U.S. pet food study finds some mislabeling
Researchers who used DNA testing to identify the type of meat present in 52 pet food products found some discrepancies between the contents and labels. Sixteen of the tested foods contained meat that was not indicated on the packaging. The study tested for beef, chicken, goat, goose, horse, lamb, pork and turkey. Chicken was most commonly included, goose was least common, and horse meat was not found in any of the samples.  Full story here.
